#8 iGoogle
This was a fun exercise. I enjoyed creating my own home page and was more than happy to see CBC news as one of the gadgets on offer for the page. I immediately added it and read up on all the glorious gold medal moments the Canadian Olympic team are experiencing at the moment! Great time to be a Canuck and an Aussie! I will keep iGoogle for my home page for the time being - at least until this course is complete but do think it is a bit busy in appearance...do I really need the word of the day? The currency converter? The current weather in every state? When will I ever get my housework done?

Walk paid off
On my walk, I was fuming about that lost post when it came to me that maybe I had saved it under drafts! Ran home to look and there it was under Drafts under Edit posts section. Feeling successful...except that I didn't mean to put two images of To Kill a Mockingbird! I'm learning though! Thanks L!
#7 Happy Reading
I don't know what happened - I have just had a beautiful friend spend an hour with me teaching me how to upload/export images to my blog...she is an experienced blogger! And I thought I had done so well - uploading images from Google Books to go with my thoughts on how to use Google Books in my class...however its gone somewhere and not to my blog...off for a walk now to burn off some of frustrations with this...did love the Google Books tool though.
#7 Google Books
Have just spent half an hour on Google Books reading bits of my favourite novel To Kill a Mockingbird. 30 minutes yesterday on Google Maps and today 30 minutes on Google Books - no wonder the housework is not getting done. I also looked up Misery Guts by Morris Gleitzman which we are reading in our Stage 3 class. The school's P and F purchased a class set of Misery Guts last year so each child has their own copy but wouldn't Google Books be a great tool for teaching/reading from the Smart Board. I much prefer to hold a book for reading - but if this cannot be the case in every classroom, then Google books could be a great tool.

#5 Holy Google Map
Just spent the last 30 minutes on Google maps looking at all my brothers and sisters homes back in Canada. I have used Google maps before for directions to find various out of the way soccer fields we have had to find over the years with my son's soccer team, however, I didn't know you could actually look at the house/field/paddock in question! How fun...though our house photo must be 24 months old at least as our neighbours knock down house is still in that particular photo. What fun...

Have been reading the Marketing article about Web 2...the most interesting by far - the others I could only skim. However, I was - still am - a wee bit intimidated by the Twitter information that author mentioned. Tweet...blog...good heavens I don't know how to Tweet and only go on Facebook to look at photos of my new great nephew back in my native Canada. I am feeling encouraged however, and can see potential for a blog in our classroom...will these replace newsletters in the future do you think?
